After completion of the 2018 Buick LPGA Shanghai, projections for the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings show that Sung Hyun Park will remain at World No. 1 with 8.1056 points, followed by Ariya Jutanugarn with 8.0279 points. Pre-tournament projections showed that Jutanugarn could pass Park if she finished solo second and Park finished sixth or worse. However, the projections did not encompass Jutanugarn’s seven-way tie for second, which altered the share of points she received. Park finished tied for 26th.
