Bowling Highlights Column 4-27-07

A beautiful cake greeted those attending the 1st Annual awards banquet for the Tri-County NY USBC Association held several weeks ago.

Tri-County NY Tournament Winners Announced

Champions of the Tri-County NY USBC Association tournaments have been officially announced.
The Association 1st Annual Open (Men's) Tournament was held at Callicoon Lanes and the Association 1st Annual Women's Tournament took place at Ellenville Lanes.
In the Open tournament at Callicoon 23 teams competed in the team event. Some 34 bowlers competed in the doubles event and 69 bowlers in the singles competition.
In the team handicap division Buddenhagen's Ford won the championship with a 3033 score. Team members include Gavin Salzberg, James Schultz, Dave Maus and Roger Widmann.. They won $520 and were presented with winning shirts.
Second place in this division went to Len & Jo's and third place to A.T. Construction.
In the team scratch division first place went to Lawn Doctor with a winning score of 2423. Team members include George Battle, Frank Muller Jr., Rick Lake, Larry Berens and Dean Shattuck. The team won $153 and shirts.
Second place in the team scratch event was won by the Sullivan County Democrat team consisting of John Fink, Tom Skiff Jr., Rich Winters and Bob Cady.
In the Doubles handicap event champions crowned were Jeremy Gulley and Roger Widmann with a 1568 score. They won $300 and shirts. Second place went to Callicoon Lanes owner Tom Russell and Monticello bowler John Hoffmann. Third place was won by Liberty bowlers Bob Fix Jr. and Ralph Coney.
Scratch doubles champions are Liberty bowlers Bob Fix Jr. and Ralph Coney with a 1360 score. Second place went to Michael Holt and Steve Brygidyr.
Singles handicap champions with identical 804 scores were Tom Russell and Michael Holt. Each won $162.50 and shirts. Second place went to Charles Reichenbach and third place Kyle DeGroat.
Antonio Rivera won the scratch singles event with a 664 good for $130 and a shirt. Second place was won by Daniel Ferris.
All events handicap champion is Jeremy Gulley who shot a 2277 score good for $115 and a shirt. Second place went to Michael Holt.
Scratch all-events champion is Bob Fix Jr. of Liberty. His winning score was 2022.
In the Women's Tournament at Ellenville, 49 teams competed in the team event, 70 in the doubles competition and 140 in the singles event.
Champions of the handicap team event was Ray's Girls with a 2652 score good for $350 and shirts. Heritage Restaurant took second place and Red Barn Campground third place.
Minisink Lanes won the team scratch event with a 2008 score good for $190 and shirts.
Sheldon Battle and Clair Barthelmes won the doubles handicap championship with a 1375 score good for $150 and shirts. Second place went to Darlene Amarilla and Jeanne Steuhl. Third place was won by Barbara Gorczynski and Marlene Hasbrouck.
Tammy Petrillo and Barbara Conklin won the scratch doubles championship with a 1175 score and good for $130 and shirts. Michelle Bensley and Shelly Morgan took second place with a 1143 score.
In the Singles handicap event Lucille Ebert won with a 743 score. She won $75 and a shirt. Tammy Wilson took second place and Jacqueline Collier third place
Angela DeBernardo with a 688 took the scratch singles championship. Second place went to Carmela Montaperto.
Clair Barthelmes won the all-events handicap championship with a 2049 score. She won $80 and a shirt.
All-events scratch champion is Michele Bensley with a 1781 score good for $49 and a shirt.
